Note that the Sony lens is not very sharp at 35mm, so in fact you're not losing a lot of reach with the Tamron, and if you add the 28-200mm, you've got à GREAT duo.

Personally i prefer the 50-300 at 665g. I have the old 70-300 at 545g. It is very good and incredibly sharp and contrasted with fast af. Today i would have chosen of course the 50-300 with Vibration Compensation and the extra 50mm. But the a7c ibis is good even at 300mm. But for video VC must be better and you get 50mm. However my 70-300mm is more lightweight and do allow more light in the 70-200mm range.

Bad construction, after a year of use it have a lot of dust inside, not used in risky places, always cleaned and being careful about dust etc... Not happy at all about this, with my tamron 35 150

Tony Northrup had some eye autofocus problems with his test version of the Sigma v2. Have not heard of others having this problem.

this is way more than a tip. i have a 16mm f1.4 and i noticed lens distortion getting less and less the more i zoomed in with the digital zoom. came her to verify.

Had mine a week. Hell, it's too wide for landscape. It really needs a re-think when using it. I consider it a special purpose len. And my standard for almost 20 years has been a 14mm. Even if you are only using the top half of the frame to avoid convergence and crop to suit, you still have a lot of pixels left with a 61MP sensor.

I’d be curious about using this for the 4k 60p video on the A7iv due to the crop..

Thank you. I own the 24-105/4 OSS G and the 24-70/2.8 GM II but admit the newer 20-70/4 G interests me due to its smaller size for one of my compact “C” bodies the A7CR. Definitely different trade-offs and it looks like you covered them all. I’m also considering the new 24-50/2.8 for the A7CR as well.i guess it’s key what I want to use it for. Event/People or Landscape. Take care.

Yeah, I got one of them dar Sony Mics - ONLY because it custom fit the FX3 handle - and it’s gud enuff for ambient stuff… same gear… only the A1 for photography because… uh, I could afford it 😏 and a Sony Flash unit because the A1 can sync it FAST!!!

In the specifications of the Rode VXLR Pro adapter, I read that the plug-in power supply is 4 Volts when the phantom power supply is 24 Volts and 48 Volts. It turns out that the Rode VXLR PRO adapter, connected to the Zoom F3 audio recorder, converts a phantom power supply of 12-48 Volts to a voltage of 4 Volts and transmits it to the Rode Lavalier Go lavalier microphone. Does this mean that in such cases it will not matter whether I set up a phantom power supply of 24 Volts or 48 Volts in the settings of the Zoom F3 audio recorder? After all, the adapter will still convert to 4 Volts, which is necessary for a lapel microphone? I’m a Sony shooter but have retainers job were I’m forced to use the GH6 (now GH7) and I totally agree on the fact that Panasonic cameras have amazing features that I’d love to see on Sony. You haven’t mentioned shutter angle (still absent on the FX3 and alpha series cameras) and also the sound options! The sound menu button is amazing, bringing all your sound settings on screen just by pressing a button.. And the sound monitoring options have way more options that on the Sony … you can ask to listen only to any of your four channels in both Left and Right headphones… something impossible on Sony. Maybe for a part 2 video :)

Why not the 20 2.8? Apparently its way better than the 16mm

I'm very curious if removing the back cover of the 16mm 2.8 will improve the coverage of fullframe. Im very tempted to get the 20 2.8 for my a7cII as a pocket setup, 30mm is pretty neat

Great video! Just ordered the A7Cii and I need a good all around small lens for video. I do need a good zoom. Nothing crazy but enough. Which one would you recommend with good zoom distance?

16mm on crop sensor = 24mm. So not superwide, a standard cinema wide, used because you don't really see any wide angle distortions. 24mm is fabulous ! But super wide it is not! Don't confuse people.
